This graph depicts the comparative remission rates at weeks 1, 2, 3, 4, 6, and 8 of treatment with placebo, SSRIs, or venlafaxine
The difference between SSRIs and venlafaxine was evident as early as week 2 (P<0.005). Significantly higher remission rates also were observed at weeks 4, 6, and 8 for venlafaxine and for venlafaxine XR compared with the SSRIs
The final remission rates for venlafaxine and SSRIs at endpoint was 45% vs 35%. This represents an increase in efficacy of approximately 30% (45% 35% = 1.29 30% increase)
